Title
OH MY OIA-Santorini-original thinner view-Oil Painting Realism
Artist
Mary Grden
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
The Original Oil Painting, “Oia", is sold. All Originals are viewed and sold with extra images at BaywoodGallery.com (copy/past or type). "Oia", said "eeah", is a small town on one end of Santorini Island, known the world over for its sunsets. I think it actually has something to do with the location it has on the earth. I just think it is really beautiful all the time there. Wandering up and down the cliffs and I continue to have fun reminiscing and painting what I remember.
If you think you are seeing double because I have two different sized prints next to each other's listing, the Original "thinner" view named in the title, will show first, then the other in a slightly "wider" view will be named and shown after.
Some collectors of art may or may not view art according to size or the space they want to display their art in, but some just want it a little wider or thinner, so I created a collection "The Taller or Wider Series." I can make certain adjustments for the larger prints, but the subject has to be inanimate, like architecture. Animate art, like people or animals usually won't take a size change. Only inanimate subjects will appear here. I don't have them all up yet, so bookmark me or follow me and come back often.

I am a self-taught Artist who began painting forty years ago in a form of Realism. “Oil painting is to me, much like writing is to an author, once the painting is complete many more than one can enjoy. Teaching yourself everything can be a long road, and what a journey to learn with God’s blessing every step of the way. The measure of success is the love or the passion you have for what you do and without it, an Artist can lose their way.” “I mix all my colors, rarely taking them straight from the tube, and create shadows for all elements like the sides of a buildings to oppose the front telling us if the sun is to rise or set. Perspective is enhanced with many color values as well, allowing us to see the realistic view of an open window, door, winding paths, steps, water and so much more. Composition can be difficult to perceive, and I am grateful that it came to me naturally.” I am self-taught in archival printing, website design and maintenance.
